Ethos

Successful buildings are all about people; those who commission, conceive, use, design, and construct them. The start of any design process should begin with intelligent listening and an environment that encourages open communication and creative thinking; this approach coupled with our knowledge and experience leads to buildings that delight, perform well and meet present and future needs.

P+HS Architects is a major design practice with offices in Leeds, Stokesley, North Yorkshire and Tyneside. We have 30 years’ experience of delivering complex, highly flexible and sustainable buildings that are good to visit, work and live in, and which promote positive responses from all who experience them. We work throughout the UK and overseas specialising in healthcare and residential design projects.

We are pragmatic, innovative and creative, and conduct our business with integrity. One of our core aims is to nurture and maintain a sustainable and lean practice: this encompasses the way in which we operate, the designs we deliver to our clients and everything in between.

Designing sustainably and caring for the environment and the communities in which we live and work are central to our work and our innovative approach is nationally recognised. We achieved the first (and currently only) BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ in UK healthcare for Houghton Primary Care Centre and our mixed use scheme for the Yorkshire Agricultural Society in Harrogate has won numerous awards for its architectural and sustainable qualities.

P+HS Architects is a financially strong and resourceful organisation. We invest heavily in our staff and have consistently been voted as a Good Employer within our industry, allowing us to attract and retain exceptionally talented staff.

We are professional, creative, approachable and responsive. Above all we are endlessly passionate about what we do.
