Cath Lake BArch (Hons) DipArch RIBA
Cath joined P+HS Architects in 2001 and became an Associate in 2008 bringing a wealth of specialist knowledge to the Practice, particularly in relation to healthcare design. In 2013 she was appointed to the Board of Directors, further strengthening the senior management team.
As architectural lead, Cath has worked extensively in varied procurement routes of healthcare developments and champions a collaborative approach to design. She is a highly experienced designer and is particularly skilled in facilitating effective stakeholder engagement, making for better buildings. In addition to her extensive healthcare expertise, Cath has also been involved with several social housing projects, in particular relating to extra care and specialist dementia care design.
Cath has been one of the Practice’s advocates for sustainable design, ensuring that we maintain and develop our approach to sustainable healthcare solutions and was one of the contributors from the P+HS team to the ‘Sustainability’ supplement for the NHS Health Building Note 11-01. Cath is also a member of our Healthcare Forum which meets regularly to identify LEAN working principles and share best practice, innovation and world class solutions for healthcare facilities.
Currently Cath is working with a number of NHS and private healthcare Trusts on continuing programmes to modernise mental health facilities across the UK.
