Planning Approval for York Extra Care Extension
An extension to a sheltered housing and extra care scheme in York has been approved.
The Planning Subcommittee of York City Council has voted unanimously in favour of the scheme which will provide a 3 storey extension of 25 apartments and 2 new semi-detached bungalows at Glen Lodge in the Heworth area of the city.
In addition to creating 27 additional self-contained dwellings, the new development will allow on-site care staff to provide 24 hour care to people with more intensive care and support needs. P+HS Architects, worked closely with the council to develop a scheme that would provide modern and flexible accommodation for older people in the area. P+HS Associate Ben Hellawell commented ’ we are delighted that our proposals have been so well supported and look forward to continuing to work closely with our client York City Council as well as the wider development team at Bridges Pound and Morgan Tucker to deliver a successful scheme which is due for completion in Spring 2017.’
