Eaglescliffe Health Centre

Developed by Abstract Integrated Healthcare and constructed by Tolent, Eaglescliffe Health Centre is the result of close collaborative working, with the final design incorporating the ideas and aspirations of the GPs.

During the construction phase, high quality temporary decant accommodation was provided so that healthcare services could continue to be delivered seamlessly to the local community.

The new facility has GP consulting rooms, treatment room and minor surgery facilities as well as podiatry and physiotherapy services. All public services are located on the ground floor, with the first floor providing for community midwifery, health visitors and district nurses with office space, a large airy meeting/training room and staff refreshment room.  Initial designs were welcomed and the final plan was the result of thorough consultation with the GP practice, North Tees PCT and users. Externally the site includes 33 car parking spaces and 12 safe cycle racks.  A steel frame construction and regular design means that the building can be readily adapted should the need arise in the future.

The building creates an attractive and welcoming environment for users, with plentiful natural light and colour, clear wayfinding and comfortable facilities. Security features were incorporated throughout the design and integrated into the fabric of the building achieving ‘Secured by Design’  accreditation.
