Grindon Lane in Sunderland, is a Primary Care Centre, providing planned and urgent care, commissioned by Sunderland Teaching Primary Care Trust. Built by Laing O’Rourke under the NHS ProCure 21 Framework agreement, the scheme was completed on time and on budget.
The £6.5m Grindon Lane Primary Care Centre was the first of these facilities in Sunderland using the NHS ProCure 21 Framework with Laing O’Rourke as the TPCT’s partner. As the network of centres develops, some primary care centres will also be linked to key local authority services under the People First initiative.
Grindon Lane Primary Care Centre provides services for people with minor injuries and ailments; diagnostic tests, such as, x-rays; and planned care for people with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, chest disease and heart disease.
