Kirkleatham Innovation Centre
The Innovation Centre at Kirkleatham, Teesside was won by P+HS Architects in an invitation only design competition for UK Steel Enterprise. One of a series of developments, the centre offers a state of the art working environment to support the needs of new and developing businesses playing an important part in the area’s regeneration.
UK Steel Enterprise support and encourage new business in areas affected by closures and decline in the UK’s Steel making industry and the Innovation Centres provide a mix of flexible office and workspace accommodation aimed at start-up businesses.
The Kirkleatham Innovation Centre building was fully occupied within weeks of opening and proved to be so successful that we were asked not only to extend the initial building but were also commissioned for further similar developments in Ebbw Vale and later, Hartlepool.
Accommodation includes: reception and waiting area, meeting rooms, communal lounge, office and workshop space, gym and showers and onsite parking and security.
The Kirkleatham building won the 2002 Redcar and Cleveland Design Award.
