Peaseway Medical Centre
In 2009 P+HS carried out upgrade works at Peaseway, adding a pharmacy to the 1980s building. In 2010, as a result of new and expanding NHS treatment methods offered at the health centre, existing facilities were restricted and we developed new proposals to reflect users’ needs.
A new flexibly designed extension links seamlessly to the existing building and almost doubles the size of the accommodation. Consulting rooms were relocated to the new extension replacing previously dark internal rooms with light bright spaces benefiting from natural light. General upgrading of facilities provides improved patient care and a better working environment for staff. In addition to admin/support and reception areas, the 6 principle elements include:
General medical services space
Private complementary medicine space
Integrated concession space
Re-modelling within the existing building provided additional storage, toilets, a new treatment room, improved utility spaces and the elimination of dark and unattractive internal consulting rooms.
The works were carefully phased to ensure that patient services were neither compromised nor disrupted during the construction.
