Adrian joined P+HS in 1999, becoming an Associate in 2003 and appointed as a Director in 2008.
Adrian has a specific role within the Practice of ensuring the technical excellence of all delivered projects. At several key stages within the life of a project, Adrian will undertake a full technical audit ensuring that all proposals embody best practice and to ensure full compliance with NHS Health Building Notes (where applicable) and Technical Memoranda. These technical audits also include a full sustainability review working, where necessary, with the appointed BREEAM assessor.
Adrian is also responsible for the resourcing of projects within the Practice ensuring that adequate and appropriately experienced staff are appointed to all projects. Resourcing is thoroughly reviewed on a weekly basis to ensure that all project programmes are met and that a consistent high quality of information is delivered and maintained.
In addition Adrian provides Director lead for complex and technically demanding projects. These include the award winning Heworth Green, a sustainable high quality commercial development within the walls of the City of York; the highly acclaimed Regional Agricultural Centre on the site of the Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate. This scheme has received several awards for its sustainable design including the RICS ‘Most sustainable building’, the RICS ‘Best Project in Yorkshire’, and the EG Green award for Retail/Leisure. More recently, Adrian oversaw the successfully delivery of a new exhibition space, Hall 1, also at the Yorkshire Showground. This scheme boasts the largest single event space in the North East and was awarded Project of the Year by RICS Yorkshire.
