Cath Lake
BArch(Hons) DipArch RIBA
Director, Architect
Cath is a hugely experienced architect, and an energetic supporter of service users, carers and staff. She is passionate in her commitment to improving healthcare environments, particularly those concerned with mental health. Joining P+HS Architects in 2001, Cath became an Associate seven years later and a Director in 2013; she now provides Director lead for mental healthcare work across the practice.
Since 2015, Cath has taken an active role as a Board member of the Design in Mental Health Network ; a not-for-profit, social enterprise company which works tirelessly to improve mental healthcare. The network is driven by the belief that design matters, and is vital to the well-being of everyone who works in, or uses the services of the mental health sector.
Over her career Cath has worked with most forms of procurement and champions a collaborative approach to design. She is particularly skilled in facilitating stakeholder engagement, not just in healthcare but also in residential care, extra care, and dementia settings.
Currently Cath is working with NHS and private healthcare Trusts on continuing programmes to modernise mental health facilities across the UK.
