Chris Smith

Chris is a senior Architectural Technologist whose background includes work in civil engineering, 3D surveying and architecture. His sector experience spans residential, education, retail, and healthcare. An associate member of CIAT (Chartered institute of Architectural Technologists), Chris achieved full chartered membership (MCIAT) in 2022. In 2023 Chris was appointed as one of P+HS Architects' BIM Leads, to provide guidance and support on all BIM matters across the practice.

Since joining P+HS in 2019, Chris has been instrumental in delivering several large-scale healthcare projects. His expertise includes leading the development of a modular Endoscopy Unit at Cumberland Infirmary and managing the technical delivery of complex two storey Robotics Theatre at North Tees Hospital, complete with advanced operating and recovery facilities. Chris has also worked on a range of residential schemes including Phase 4 of Middle Deepdale HA2 for Kebbell Developments, developing high quality family homes for private sale; Stapleford Court, Wansford Avenue, sheltered accommodation for people with learning disabilities as part of Newcastle City Council's Annuity 2; Moulders Park delivering 65 new affordable homes to rent in Spennymoor, County Durham; and Longstone Manor, Amble, working with Home Group delivering 185 homes for affordable rent, shared ownership, and outright sale. Developed over several years this scheme straddles a change in building regulations.
