2,000 Trees Planted at South Tyneside Hospital

Over the weekend, our team rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in the mud, planting trees for South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. It was a beautiful sunny morning that lifted everyone's spirits as we planted around 2,000 trees, with a few little helpers joining us along the way.

This event was a fantastic opportunity to give back to a Trust we have worked closely with for many years, enhancing their estate with a native species-rich hedgerow at South Tyneside District Hospital. The hedgerow included a variety of trees such as Dogwood, Field Maple, Hawthorn, Crab Apple, Bird Cherry, Rowan, and Hazel.

The trees were generously donated by NHS Forest, a program run by the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare (CSH). Since its launch in 2009, NHS Forest has supported the planting of over 100,000 trees on or near NHS sites, helping to create greener, more sustainable healthcare spaces across the country.
