Another successful year and staff growth for P+HS Architects

Rather than the usual social event with the company's 80 staff getting together, this year's meetings, two days before the latest national lockdown, reflected current restrictions with separate socially distanced events held at each office location. Chris said:

"It feels very different this year but as MD I'm incredibly proud of all that we have achieved over the last 12 months. The global pandemic has been catastrophic for many people and organisations. It has devastated lives, wiped out jobs and put unprecedented pressure on essential services and mental wellbeing. Yet here we are, still fully operational and with a successful year behind us.

It is testament to our great number of longstanding clients and partners and thanks to our staff, the heart and future of P+HS Architects, that we have been able to continue to deliver outstanding work, often working from home, in these challenging times. Everyone's resilience flexibility and commitment has been fantastic.

With several significant new project wins in both the healthcare and residential sectors we have continued to grow our staff and, looking ahead, are cautiously optimistic for 2020/21 knowing that we have a top team in place with the tools, talent and ambition to continue working to enhance lives."

As well as reflecting on a successful year, Chris announced staff promotions and said that with continued planned growth, he hoped that there would be more to follow in the near future.

Alice Green and Tom Potter both take up Associate roles and Lauren Sturman moves into a lead role for the administration team.

Since joining the Practice in 2015 Alice has led on the architectural and interior design for several projects including work for UK Steel enterprise, St Andrew's Healthcare and Bradford District Care’s new Assessment and Treatment Unit for people with Autism and Learning Disabilities. Recently Alice has been heavily involved in strategic work for two healthcare trusts in Yorkshire. As well as project work, Alice is an Executive Board member of the not for profit organisation Architects for Health.

Tom's architectural career with P+HS began as a student back in 2002. Since qualifying 10 years ago Tom has worked right across the practice with healthcare emerging as a key strength and passion. Tom has led numerous successful primary care schemes and is currently working on new developments in Hull and Newcastle. In the acute sector, Tom is involved with a £50m Emergency Department and Acute Assessment Unit for North Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Trust at Scunthorpe and Grimsby.

Lauren, one of the practice's newer members of staff, has made rapid progress with P+HS Architects. Practice Manager Natalie Stirland said: "Since her appointment just two years ago, Lauren has quickly developed her skills and demonstrated a real flair for organisation in our fast-paced work environment. I'm delighted to welcome Lauren into her new role leading and developing our all- important administration team."
