Renovating MAIN's Pathways to Independence Centre
Renovating MAIN's Pathways to Independence Centre
19 November 2024
Director, Pete Stead has been on a mission to help renovate and expand MAIN’s Pathways to Independence Centre.
MAIN is a charity dedicated to creating a society that celebrates differences. Their mission centres on developing meaningful ways to support and uplift children and adults who are autistic, neurodivergent, awaiting diagnosis, or have learning disabilities and complex needs. Through personalised one-to-one support, activities and a variety of workshops and resources, they empower individuals to build confidence and reach their full potential.
To reach and empower even more individuals, MAIN is expanding its services to create a space designed to promote independence. This new area will feature an accessible kitchen, café, laundry room, and reception, providing facilities where individuals can develop practical skills and gain greater independence.
As a trustee of MAIN, Pete has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life, offering his free time to provide drawing and planning services for the new space. Hayley Hunter, one of our interior designers, is also contributing to the project through a collaboration with Tarkett UK. Together, they are conducting a case study focused on autism-inclusive design, ensuring that the interiors promote well-being and create a calm, welcoming environment.
Renovations are now underway and are expected to be completed by Christmas. Stay tuned for updates on MAIN’s website, where you can read all about the renovations and the incredible work they do.
