Green Light for first phase of Affordable Homes for Durham County Council

We're excited to announce that planning approval has been secured for the Malvern Crescent development in Seaham, as part of Durham County Council’s ambitious housing delivery programme aiming to provide up to 500 new council homes across the county in the coming years.

Since last spring, P+HS Architects has been working alongside T Manners and Sons Ltd and the wider design team to bring this vision to life. The Malvern Crescent scheme is the first to receive planning approval and will deliver 33 affordable homes, including, 6 bungalows and 2-to-3-bedroom houses.

All homes are designed to meet the standards of Approved Document M(4) Category 2 and will be EPC A rated, ensuring they provide affordable, energy efficient housing where it’s most needed.

The design team includes T Manners and Sons Ltd, ELG Planning, and BGP Teesside, all part of this important initiative, helping to deliver high-quality, sustainable homes for the community.
