Hammerson House Ready for Residents
Hammerson House Ready for Residents
10 May 2021
We were thrilled to visit Nightingale Hammerson's beautiful new Care Home last week and appreciate first-hand just how stunning this building is.
Hammerson House is a place of support and care that combines contemporary design with the feel of a country house hotel, where residents’ needs have clearly informed every decision and no detail has been overlooked.
Spacious en-suite bedrooms, arranged in household clusters each with their own lounge, dining and therapy areas, look out to trees and sky. There are generous communal main areas too: a conservatory opening onto landscaped gardens with outside seating and meandering woodland paths, a hall for large gatherings, a café, hair salon, a variety of lounge areas and an intergenerational space specifically designed so that visiting children can be part of the activities of the home. This is a place where people can settle, feel secure and live with maximum independence and enjoyment.
Director Cath Lake who led the project for P+HS said “ We were initially brought to the project as part of Contractor Bowmer and Kirkland’s design team, to assist with redesign and challenges with buildability. Our relationship with the Nightingale Hammerson team quickly developed into one where we really understood what they were trying to achieve, and we bought in to their vision. We’re all proud of the project we’ve delivered – somewhere that can thrive as a community and be the standard to aspire to for later age living."
Nightingale Hammerson are busy welcoming the first residents this week and we are looking forward to hearing the reaction to their new surroundings.
