Haven Court Highly Commended at BBH Awards 2017

South Tyneside's new community hub, Haven Court, was yesterday commended by Building Better Healthcare in the Dementia Care category of the awards.

The scheme, in South Shields was developed by South Tyneside NHS and the Local Authority to provide a pioneering model of care for an expanding older population in the region. The development includes 80 bedrooms and is specifically designed to deliver a range of integrated services to support individuals, families and carers affected by the challenges of older age, including dementia.

In addition to this latest award, Haven Court has been named ‘Best Inclusive Building’ at the North East LABC awards and is shortlisted in the Health Service Journal awards for projects demonstrating improved partnerships between health and local government.
