Haven Court is finalist in Pinders Healthcare Design Awards

South Tyneside's new Integrated Community Hub, Haven Court, has been shortlisted in the Pinders Healthcare Design Awards. The annual Awards aim to promote and recognise the very best developments in all types of care-related property and we are delighted that Haven Court has been selected as a finalist.

Developedby South Tyneside NHS and the Local Authority, Haven Court provides a pioneering model of care for the expanding older population of South Shields and the surrounding neighbourhood. Designed as an easily accessible community hub, the new building is specifically designed to deliver a range of linked services to support the varied needs of individuals, families andcarers affected by the challenges of older age, including dementia. The contemporary design reflects a new approach to older age care; one that provides joined up, holistic solutions that celebrate, rather than marginalise, older age within the community.

Commenting on the news, P+HS Architects' Project Director, Derek Shepherd said ' we'll have to wait until March 2017 for the final awards results but in the meantime we are thrilled that this innovative project has been recognised. It's testament to the vision of South Tyneside NHS and the close collaboration of the project team that such an outstanding resource has been developed for the community and we look forward to seeing its services develop.'
