Angela Rossi Shortlisted for Lifetime Achievement Award

We are delighted to announce that Angela Rossi, a long-standing and member of the team has been Shortlisted for the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's Design and Build - Women in Construction Awards!

Angela embarked on her journey into the construction industry in 1979, so her long and fruitful career has spanned 45 years so far, with over 35 of them being at P+HS!

From a 16-year-old starting out on an HNC to now, an Associate in a top-ranking healthcare practice, Angela has created a tangible legacy of well designed, technically excellent buildings for health and social care. Places that deliver social impact through their use as places of healing, recovery, and living well and places that support staff working and service users at their most vulnerable. A vast portfolio of work of which to be proud of now and in the years ahead as it continues to deliver benefit for future generations.

Embracing both opportunities and challenges, Angela has led the technical delivery of numerous acute healthcare projects of varying scales as well as 3 major mental healthcare buildings totalling approximately £110m value. Project work has contributed to her extensive knowledge of the sector, and she has gained experience in innovative building techniques: for example one of those buildings, Kingfisher Court, was the largest SIPS construction in Europe at the time of building.

However, her dedication and influence spans beyond the delivery of impactful projects, as she continues to share her expertise both internally and externally, guiding, inspiring and creating opportunities for those entering the industry.

Angela’s unwavering passion, commitment, and progressive attitude have also been instrumental in elevating the standing of Architectural Technology within the construction industry. Her efforts have significantly raised the profile of the Chartered Institute for Architectural Technology (CIAT), garnering well-deserved recognition for the profession.

Cath Lake, Director at P+HS Architects

“Angela has been part of our business for over 35 years.

She has been a mentor, a friend, and a valued colleague to many in the practice, including me, and has delivered some amazing projects that have touched the lives of thousands of people at challenging times in their lives: in residential care, acute mental healthcare, and acute hospitals. Many have been award-winning and Angela has always chosen to champion the team around her.

Her technical knowledge is incredible, beaten only by her compassion and willingness to mentor less experienced members of the team towards becoming more skilled in their chosen careers.

We’re proud to have Angela in our team.”

Angela is a shining example of how, with application and commitment, people at every level can build a career that creates lasting impact.

Angela says: “Mark Twain’s wise words definitely ring true for me: “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life”

We’ll have to wait until September for the results, but for now we wish Angela and all her fellow finalists hearty congratulations and the best of luck!
