Masterplanning: Knowledge sharing workshop

Staff from all offices came together in Newcastle this week for the first of two masterplanning workshops. The knowledge sharing session was open to all staff members and Katie Shepherd led the presentation covering what master planning is, national and regional planning policy, emerging guidance, site analysis, opportunities and constraints and discussing the importance of residential design in creating sustainable healthy communities.

There was a fun practical ‘blank sheet of paper’ task in which the staff broke away into groups and got out their coloured pens and tracing paper. It was all finished off with pizza and beer as the results were discussed and evaluated.
