More Staff Milestone Celebrations

Twenty years ago today, two new staff members joined P+HS Architects in Stokesley. Rather confusingly, both were Architectural Technologists, and both answered to the name of Steve!

Fast forward from 2001 to today, and we’re delighted that Steve Jordison and Stephen Hatcher are still here, now key members of our senior team and integral to the fabric of P+HS Architects.

Each specialising in different core sectors for P+HS, Steve and Stephen can now be found leading teams in residential and healthcare work respectively.

MD Chris Dennis remembers when Steve Jordison joined P+HS: "When Steve arrived at P+HS Architects we were a very different practice, I think that we were just about to plant the seedlings of an office in Wellington Street Leeds and I guess we were running a staff of less than 20 out of a single Stokesley office. Coming from a small practice in Northallerton, Steve joined P+HS under the watchful eye of Rowland Holmes Smith, the HS of P+HS and one of the founding partners. Rowland was known for his passion in getting the job right and Steve learned his craft well, working tirelessly delivering numerous residential schemes. Projects ranged in scale and complexity, from housing estates for developers such as Bellway to smaller developments for Broadacres and other Housing Associations. Steve has become one of our go to people for his outstanding knowledge on technical issues, in particular within the residential sector, and his encyclopaedic knowledge of regulations and standards. Today Steve is the Stokesley studio lead on residential technical delivery and has developed a great rapport with several of our most demanding clients through his knowledge and professionalism. So, Steve many thanks for your diligence over the last 20 years and here’s to another 20!"

Stephen Hatcher, also affectionately known as Steve, is another highly skilled Architectural Technologist. He is an Associate at P+HS and works predominantly within healthcare. Stephen joined us in 2001 and apart from a very brief hiatus with another practice (which we don't count) has been with us ever since, working on technically challenging projects as well as being instrumental in the practice's adoption of Revit and certification in BIM Level 2. In 2014 he was awarded CIAT's Open Award for Excellence in Architectural Technology for his work on the award-winning cancer treatment centre, The Endeavour Unit at James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough. Commenting on Steve's 20 year anniversary, Director Derek Shepherd said: " Congratulations go to Steve on this fantastic milestone. As a very valued member of our senior team, Steve has been instrumental in a number of our significant and complex healthcare projects. Following the success of the last 20 years we hope Steve continues to win awards and deliver more fantastic schemes over the next 20 years!"
