Offsite Solution for New Priority Assessment Unit
Offsite Solution for New Priority Assessment Unit
15 March 2021
A new 62 bed Priority Assessment Unit has started on site at St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey for Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Premier Modular is delivering the £9.8m project using an offsite solution, significantly reducing construction time and minimising the impact on the live hospital site.
The P+HS team is working closely with Premier as well as Estates staff and clinicians on the detailed design of the new facility, created to alleviate pressure on the hospital’s emergency department and streamline patient services.
As well as being highly functional, the new building will link seamlessly into the existing hospital and externally blend with the site’s strategic masterplan, designed by BDP. The new two-storey development will provide 62 patient bays as well as staff space, seminar rooms and ancillary facilities. This fast-track offsite solution will reduce the programme by up to 9 months compared to in-situ construction allowing the new facility to be completed by Summer 2021.
