St Andrew's FitzRoy House welcomes first young people
05 January 2017
FitzRoy House, Europe’s newest and largest adolescent mental health facility has seen the first of the young people at St Andrew's Healthcare move in. Providing specialised, personalised care, FitzRoy House will support up to 110 young people with some of the most complex mental health needs in the UK.
FitzRoy House provides quite outstanding facilities for young people living with the challenges of mental health; it includes wards, living spaces and new sports and fitness facilities as well as purpose-built therapy suites and a new home for St Andrew's College. Designed in close collaboration with healthcare professionals and the young service users themselves, the scheme has created the best possible environment for recovery and we are proud to have been part of the team. Congratulations to everyone involved: young people, psychiatrists, nursing teams, OT specialists, the contractor Galliford Try, Cantoo for the stunning artwork, but most of all to St Andrew's Healthcare for their bold vision and dedication to creating what must surely be a best in class for any facility of this type.
