The Offices Battle It Out

Last Friday, our Stokesley and Leeds offices went head-to-head in a 'friendly' touch rugby match!

After a coin toss to kick things off, both teams started slow, but Leeds quickly took a 2-0 lead. Stokesley, however, fought back with creative skills and quick hands (plus a few questionable refereeing decisions!) to take a 3-2 lead, thanks to two fantastic tries by Player of the Match, Fraser Stirland.

Leeds weren’t out yet and, after a series of back-and-forth exchanges, managed to level things up at 3-3. A brilliant move from Ben Lillywhite gave Stokesley the lead again, but Leeds came back to make it 4-4 as the game neared its final moments.

In a nail-biting finish, Charlotte Eynon nearly secured the winning try, but Leeds captain Ben Fields made a last-ditch tackle to keep the game tied at 4-4!

A huge thank you to everyone from both offices (and a few from Newcastle) who played, supported, and cheered us on. Special shout out to Northallerton Rugby Club, Pete Stead, Jamie Stoddart, Ben Lillywhite and Banaris Iqbal for organising.

There’s definitely a rematch on the cards, but in the meantime, whispers of a summer cricket match have emerged, so both teams can battle it out once again.
