Architects for Health

Architects for Health is a non-profit organisation that advocates for best practice in healthcare design. It is a forum for sharing knowledge, innovation and thought leadership across the built healthcare environment.

P+HS Architects have been longstanding members of Architects for Health with staff members volunteering their time to support its work over the years. Associate and Healthcare Lead Alice Green has been a member of the AfH executive committee for the last 3 years and this year (2021) was appointed as a Board Director. Alice has worked closely with the AfH board helping to curate many successful events including several best practice talks for healthcare facilities featuring projects within the UK, Europe and Australia, organising a best practice study tour for Maggie’s Centres of the North as well as representing AfH by presenting at ‘The Future of Healthcare’ webinar hosted by a West Yorkshire local MP earlier this year.

Alice’s role at AfH has also involved reaching out to contacts in the UK and internationally to continue to grow the development of the AfH community. Alice is very passionate to drive this forward in order to improve membership services, share knowledge of best practice and to discuss policy, ultimately to challenge how we deliver healthcare facilities in the UK in order to improve service user outcomes.

No matter what the scale of the job, Alice is committed to improving healthcare environments for both patients and staff through high quality design. Having strong skills and leadership in stakeholder engagement coupled with learning from global best practice and innovation, Alice is able to share and apply her knowledge and experience within P+HS to assist in improving healthcare facilities. As a Healthcare Lead within P+HS, Alice encourages a holistic approach to design from both an Architectural, Interiors and service user perspective. By drawing on this knowledge of best practice design, we are able to challenge a clients brief and investigate new ways of working with a focus on improving the service user experience.
