Barn Theatres

Following on from the successful delivery of an Acute Assessment Unit for Airedale, P+HS Architects have completed a new 2 storey stand-alone building to expand theatre capacity at the hospital. The state of the art ‘barn’ style theatre provides much needed new facilities with the latest technology for orthopaedic procedures.

At ground floor level, the new building links to the hospital’s existing theatres providing an extension to services. This floor includes a main entrance, reception and outpatients’ waiting area as well as two state of the art barn theatres, a procedure suite for minor operations, anaesthetic rooms, recovery area and ancillary accommodation. The first floor (roof) contains dedicated plant space serving both the old and new departments.
