Laburnum Farm
A development of nine dwellings constructed to a very high specification on the site of derelict village farm. The brief required a broad mix of unit type and sizes; comprising cottages and double fronted detached villas, which reflect the style and character of traditional cottages and farm buildings.
The roof, materials and building storey heights vary between units to articulate a streetscape characteristic of the village. The road frontage comprises a variety of dwelling types, which has been arranged to echo the green spaces and breaks within the linear street pattern. Behind the properties the site is accessed via a shared private access serving 5 dwellings which are located close to the road to give an enclosed farm courtyard feel.
