Newcastle City Council, Children's Home
The Children’s Home was designed and developed for Newcastle City Council, setting a new standard for residential children’s care within the city. Opening the doors to its first residents in January 2025, this children’s home provides four children’s bedrooms and two staff bedrooms with a series of communal living spaces, such as; homework room, games room, living room around a private garden space to create a private and homely environment within the wider context of the city.
P+HS Architects have been key to the development of the design from the initial conception of the scheme, where we were commissioned to develop the new building through RIBA Stages 0 – 7. Our own specialism for designing for people with specialist needs and care environments, together with our technical expertise, and the clients ambition to create a truly special place, has delivered an outstanding homely environment for the children in care and place for staff to work.
