Shincliffe

The first scheme designed by P+HS Architects for Kebbell Homes. Completed in 1989, we went on to form a long lasting relationship with this client and are still designing and delivering successful and popular housing schemes for them today. Shincliffe is an attractive village on the outskirts of Durham; designated a conservation area.

On the site of former farmyard, the Hall Farm development consisted of 10 new executive houses including the conversion of 2 farm buildings, arranged around a small green. All houses have either 3 or 4 bedrooms and were of a bespoke design creating choice and interest within the scheme.

In line with its sensitive conservation village location, designs for the scheme include traditional materials – brick walling and clay pantile roofs with simple non-standard fenestration and occasional use of oriel windows maximising light and views out and adding variety to the elevations.
