P+HS have successfully worked with Home group for many years on a variety of projects across Yorkshire, Cumbria and the North east of England. This development in Wigton, Cumbria, comprises of 110 dwellings with private gardens accessed from a single entrance point off Proctor's Square. The mix of house types ranges from 2 bedroom bungalows to 4 bedroom detached houses. In discussions with Allerdale Borough Council it was agreed that 22 affordable dwellings would be provided which include 8 x 2 bedroom bungalows (all social rent) and 14 x 2 bedroom houses (split into 7 affordable sale and 7 social rent).
House types have been designed to maximise their location on the site, whether that be the double fronted properties to the south and west or the split level houses in the centre of the site, which help to reduce the extent of retaining structures. Dwellings have been designed with modern living in mind. Internally the houses have a mixture of open plan and more traditional cellular arrangements.
